We understand “women” as a category that is socially, culturally, politically and structurally constructed and reproduced in constant discourse. Part of our work is to work out the different meanings of “woman/women” and other gender designations in the course of history to show their changeability. In this way we create an awareness for gender-specific role models and stereotypes and for the criticism of the traditional binary gender order of men and women where they lead to the maintenance of societal norms that lead to discrimination.
